Optimizing Output Image Using Ucompose

Uluro contains features that can optimize your output for PDF, Postscript and PRN files.

You can combine these features based on the type of print driver you are using. The graph below displays the combination of features that are compatible with different drivers. ***This test was conducted with text data***

**The first column contains uCompose features, Columns 2-6 contain the drivers and the test results (Check boxes indicate the feature is compatible with the driver). The bottom 2 rows are the resulting output file size.

 

 

 

Below are instruction for enabling these features.

 

8 Bit

Enable this feature in the add image or append image window

 

 

Reusable PS

Enable this feature by adding the ‘Use Postscript Image’ command in the Doc tab

 

You will then need to enable the ‘Send as reusable PS’ on the Add Image window in the Disp tab

 

 

Disable Increment Character Positioning

Enable this feature in the Document Definition located in the Doc tab

 

PDF Output Configuration

Enable this feature by adding the PDF Output Configuration command in the Doc tab

 

You will then need to set the embedded fonts

 

PCL Macros

Enable this feature by adding the Use PCL Macros command in the Doc tab

 

Check the Use PCL box then type a tray name and your PCL code in the provided fileds and add as a tray definition.

 

In your Output Page Definition located in the Doc tab you will need to set the tray you defined in the previous step.
